Show up. Level up. Ship.

From doer to director. The path that turns an operator into someone who directs AI to do the work. Nine belts, twenty-seven levels, eighty-one katas — start at white belt knowing nothing and climb to sensei teaching the room.

The turn

From doer to director.

AI can solve almost anything now. The work is no longer doing the task. The work is directing it right. The Dojo is the path from one to the other.

You do the work
You direct the work

The old skill was doing the task yourself. The new skill is describing the outcome and letting AI execute. Same result, a fraction of the time.

You learn the tool
You learn to direct

There is no "memorize the commands." There is "tell AI to save your work." You stop learning interfaces and start learning intent.

You ship one thing
You ship systems

By the top of the path you are not doing tasks at all. You are designing agents that interpret your intent and run without you.

The path

Nine belts. One floor. A path you can see.

The climb is the same shape for everyone. Four beats, repeated and deepened across nine belts. Where you start does not matter. The direction does.

01
Show up

Start where you are. White belt assumes nothing. Your first task is a real problem, not a tutorial.

02
Direct

You stop doing and start describing. AI writes, saves, ships. You learn to direct it until the output is exactly right.

03
Build

Mid-path you direct full features end to end. Front end, back end, database, deploy. AI builds. You own it.

04
Lead

At the top you design systems and teach them. Agents run without you. Then you make another sensei.

The Prompt Explorer

White Belt

You discover that AI can do real work for you — not just answer questions.

The Version Controller

Yellow Belt

AI saves, tracks, and manages your code — you learn the hygiene of how teams ship work together.

The Strategy Writer

Orange Belt

AI writes your strategy docs and plans — you direct the thinking, AI does the writing and saving.

The Code Director

Green Belt

The same way you directed AI to edit text, now you direct it to edit code — AI writes it, you approve it.

The Feature Builder

Blue Belt

AI builds complete features for you — you describe what you want, AI builds the front-end, back-end, and database.

The CLI Power User

Purple Belt

You graduate to local CLI for full system-level power — deployments, automations, and infrastructure all directed by AI.

The Art of Systemization

Brown Belt

You stop doing tasks and start designing systems — agents interpret your intent, you refine the agents not the work.

Belt 08 of 09

The Art of Automation

Black Belt

Your systems run in autonomous loops — agents support each other, self-correct, and evolve without you.

The Teacher of the Craft

Sensei

You teach others the AI-native way — not how to use tools, but how to think AI-first.

The nine belts

White to sensei. Tap a belt to see the katas.

Each belt is three levels. Each level is three katas. Twenty-seven levels, eighty-one katas, one progression from your first AI-solved problem to teaching the room.

Level 1First Contact
  • Have AI solve a real work problem. Not a test — a real problem you were going to spend time on. Let AI handle it.
  • Have AI create something you actually use. An email, proposal, plan, or document that you send or ship as-is or with minor edits
  • Have AI do your research. Instead of Googling and reading, tell AI what you need to know and get an actionable summary
Level 2Directing AI
  • Direct AI to refine until perfect. Keep directing AI through conversation until the output is exactly what you need — no manual editing
  • Have AI match your voice. Get AI to write in your style, your tone, your way — so the output sounds like you wrote it
  • Have AI generate options and pick the best. Instead of thinking through approaches yourself, have AI present options with tradeoffs
Level 3AI-First Workflow
  • Have AI run your meeting prep. AI generates the agenda, talking points, and follow-up notes — you just show up prepared
  • Have AI find what you would miss. Give AI a document and have it surface gaps, risks, or opportunities you did not see
  • Go a full week AI-first. One week where AI is your first stop for every task — not your backup, your starting point

The floor

You do not study the floor. You step onto it.

The Dojo is not a course you finish. It is a floor you stand on. Founding ninjas set the pace, and the belts are how you measure the climb. Show up. Level up. Ship.

81katas

Every kata is a real task on real work, not a sandbox exercise. You finish a belt because you shipped, not because you watched.

AIdoes the volume

You never memorize syntax. AI writes the code, saves the work, runs the terminal. Your job is direction and judgment.

1floor

Everyone trains in the open. Founders, operators, the whole team on the same floor, leveling at their own pace, on real builds.

Step onto the floor

Show up. Level up. Ship.

White belt assumes nothing. By sensei you are directing systems that run without you. The next cohort takes you the whole way.
